The electric vehicle market is lining up to be the next breakthrough in light commercial vehicles, following how successful electric vans have been since their release. Ford’s F-150 Lightning has made significant progress, received great reviews, and has surpassed expectations with its driving range. This success has enticed Volkswagen Group to make its way into the electric vehicle market by reviving its Scout brand. However, they may both be beaten with the arrival of automaker, Maxus’s T90 Electric Vehicle truck to the UK.
Electric trucks are not yet for sale in the United Kingdom; building them is trickier than electrifying a van. The weight of the batteries on the existing 4x4 may cause payload concerns in the United Kingdom. Due to this, there are many new brands entering the electric pickup market that have now started using the revolutionary ‘skateboard’ style chassis design, this puts all the components into a platform that can have pickup bodies. A lot of other trucks coming on the market are primarily being released in the USA, although there are some Chinese electric pickup trucks many of them are exclusively being released in the USA.

- Rivian R1T electric pickup truck (2022)
The Rivian R1T combines luxury, performance, and sustainability with a range of up to 400 miles, quad-motor setup, and a spacious interior with a unique "Gear Tunnel" storage feature.
- Maxus T90 EV electric pickup truck (2022/3)
The Maxus T90 EV stands out with its impressive features, including a range of 198 miles, rapid 45-minute charging, and a chunky 88.55kWh battery pack.
- Bollinger B2 electric pickup truck (2022)
The Bollinger B2 boasts rugged off-road capabilities, a boxy design, and an estimated range of 200 miles.
- Ford Ranger and Volkswagen Amarok Hybrid electric pickup truck
Ford, is planning to introduce electrified drivetrains in their next-generation pickup trucks like the Ford Ranger and VW Amarok which reflect a commitment to sustainability and to meet stricter emissions regulations.
